I was told that they dump gallons of orange dye in the river. Kind of weird, but the river is not exactly the cleanest thing you've ever seen. So I guess that's what works.
And Jensen would not sit still. He just wanted to run around and play.

We ate at some of the best restaurants ever. This was at Portillos that has the infamous Chicago hot dog and Italian beef. We also ate at Gino's East of Chicago that had incredible Chicago deep dish pizza. The cook it with the cheese on bottom and put the sauce on top.
And the crust is just to die for. We also ate at Twin Anchor which is famous for it's ribs. I'm not a huge rib person, but these were pretty dang good. This was also said to be Frank Sinatra's favorite place to eat.

We also went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was a beautiful day and Jensen just loved to get out and run around. The animals were ok too.
Sarah is my only cousin on both sides that is my age. When we lived in Illinois, she and I were very close. She's the closest thing I had to a sister.

Jensen is looking so grown up. I'm so sad we missed you guys but I'm glad you had fun in Chi-town!
Sounds like a fun trip! I LOVE Chicago pizza and I'm so jealous you got eat some! Glad you had a great time!
Reed and Fam,
I came across your blog through Keelee's. It was fun to see your family and read a little about you guys. Reed, did you work for JP Morgan/Chase before moving to Minnesota? My husband was thinking he met you through work but can't remember. Anyway, it was so fun to see your beautiful family and to read up on your wife as a fellow racer! Best wishes.
I've always wanted to see Chicago during St Patrick's day! I used to live in IN and our stake was in Chicago. I love that city! Whenever I think of the green in the water it reminds me of The Fugitive when they make the comment, "If they can make it green one day why can't they make it blue all the others?" (Or something like that) :)
Looks like it was pretty fun, Jensen is too cute and grown up.
Reed, Thanks for responding. Isn't it so fun to see everyone in there "grown up" lives? The Holmes' will be keeping tabs on the Edwards'.
Allie, Do you have any races coming up? I belong to this running blog where you can keep track of your running, swimming and cycling. It is really fun and I thought you might be interested. www.fastrunningblog.com
It was started by a local elite runner in Utah and it is so fun to email people on the blog and share tips! You can also get to it from my blog. It is marked as My running calendar on the right hand side.
Oh, you guys are the cutest ever! Glad you had a fun little get-away. Love it.
I love the green river!
